Here is the reworked description with the requested paragraph about the Zod-backed login/registration functionality and the demo’s dummy login setup seamlessly woven in:
At its core, Vaultage is an attempt to deliver a customizable, effectively white-label alternative to Dropbox or Google Drive — the kind of storage backend a team could brand and extend as their own rather than build against a third-party API.
A cloud file storage API built on Node/Express, using Supabase for both structured data (via Prisma ORM) and raw byte storage — a neat unification that avoids the usual split between a relational database and a separate object-storage provider.
File uploads are handled via Multer, request payloads are validated with Zod (catching malformed input before it hits the database), and auth combines JWT sessions with bcrypt/bcryptjs hashing — solving the core problem any Drive-like service faces: securely gatekeeping who can read, write, or share a given file.
While full registration and login functionality is built out (with robust input validation powered by Zod), the live demo implements a pre-configured dummy login to let visitors bypass registration friction and instantly test out the interface and file management features.

This project is deployed on Render’s free tier, so the demo app may take up to 30–60 seconds to load if it’s been inactive — the server spins down after periods of no traffic and needs a moment to wake back up. Supabase is also prone to pausing the database, as much as I keep on top of it. Thanks for your patience! Once it’s loaded, it should run smoothly.
